Marcelo is a specialist in AI, Innovation, and Technology in People Management. He is a coach, mentor, professor, and international speaker. He also participates as an angel investor in technology and Human Resources projects.

Education

 

Marcelo holds a bachelor's and master's degree in Computer Science from Columbia University in New York and a PhD in Production Engineering from COPPE/UFRJ. Additionally, he earned an MBA in Finance from IBMEC and an MBA in Oil and Gas Business from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He is a certified coach by Columbia University and has completed training in Corporate Governance at IBGC and Saint Paul Business School.

 

Professional experience

He is a professional with more than 30 years of experience in the financial, oil and gas, consumer goods, air transportation, and food industries. He worked for ten years in IT before transitioning to People Management, where he built a 20-year career. He specializes in executive coaching, change management, organizational development, and leadership. His professional background includes strategic and cultural transformation projects in multinational companies across Brazil, Latin America, and the U.S., in contexts of acquisitions, mergers, spin-offs, and startups. Beyond these regions, he has also led projects in Africa, Europe, and Asia.

Currently, he works as a Specialist in AI, Innovation, and Technology in People Management with the consulting firm Falconi and Distrito, an innovation hub. He hosts the webcast Você Está Contratado! and writes a column for HSM Management magazine. He teaches postgraduate courses on strategic management and innovation in HR. Marcelo is also an angel investor in HRTechs Allya, Pin People, Sami Health, and RHeunion, and serves on the board of Assetz Expert Recruitment and 3Clicks RH.

He is the author of scientific articles and the book Você Está Contratado! (Évora, 2013), and co-author of the books Corporate Education in the Post-Pandemic Scenario (Qualitymark, 2023), Employee Experience in Theory and Practice (rokkets, 2023), and Stories of the Most Admired HR Executives (Leader, 2018).
